today's story is the busy tree by Jennifer Ward illustrated by Lisa the busy tree I'm a tree a busy tree bees are my roots winding and long the anchor and feed me and help me grow strong look at my Acorn shiny and Round by Chipmunks to scratch at the ground here is my trunk we're busy and Scurry searching for food as they marched in a hurry this is the spider that lives in my bark spinning a web from dawn Until Dark a woodpecker searches eager to munch tapping for bugs able to eat for lunch and this one is a boy if you look on the back of the woodpecker's head to see a little bit of red visit my Halo sets home sleeps all day long that at night he starts to prowl this is a little red-faced screech owl these are my branches through the sky one of my branches cradles a nest a cozy warm home where new hatchling can rest and if you look close you can see that the eggs are blue baby robin look at this small twig the pools a cocoon protecting him off emerge soon hear my green leaves is a shaking the wind breathing out air for all to breathe in these are my balls that Creeks Bend and sway sheathing the children below as they play a boy finds an acorn a shake from my top among autumn leaves that swirl as they drop a girl plants a seed it grows Towards the Sky taller and stronger as season pass becoming a tree a busy tree oh and the dedication of book is actually on the last page sisters Kathy Laura Kristen and Debbie and that's from the illustrator dedicated it to my husband who changed my life so the dedications in this book are on the last page
