Tips on raising a Life Long reader:
1.) Read aloud to your child even when they are older and are able to read themselves.
2.) Allow your children to read any books that hold their interest, it doesn't have to be a classic.
3.) Encourage your child to look for "just right books" using the 5 finger rule*
*In our library children are asked to pick at least ONE "just right book" the other two can be an easier favorite and a challenge book to read aloud with their family. (See #1)
